PolyOne Corporation is a premier provider of specialized polymer materials, services, and solutions. Our Advanced Composites portfolio, launched in 2016 with the acquisition of Gordon Composites and Polystrand, offers comprehensive thermoplastic and thermoset composite solutions to a wide range of markets and industries.
Our Polystrand thermoplastic composites combine high strength, unidirectional, continuous fibers with engineered thermoplastic resins to create Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (CFRTP) materials that provide exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and high-level performance. Polystrand CFRTP materials are available in single layer tape and multi-ply laminate configurations, as well as in sandwich panels with a variety of facesheet and core materials and configurations. Manufacturers can benefit from our advanced composites – in place of traditional materials – to reduce weight and improve strength, impact resistance, and design flexibility.
In addition to materials formulation, manufacturers can also leverage our processing and design expertise early in the product development cycle with predictive analysis, industrial design capabilities, and process optimization including injection overmolding, compression molding and thermoforming, to create highly engineered, high-performing products. R&M Intl.--Table 4
R&M International is a private, family-owned and operated business, located in Fort Washington, PA founded in 1977 by Denys Rawson. Due to the high quality of service, efficiency, and standards, R&M International has become a leading trader, repurposer, and recycler of textiles, plastics, and carbon materials to the global community, servicing clients in over 40 countries. Together, the Rawson family represents over 100 years of experience in the international trade in the textile and plastics industry. R&M has partnered with Shocker Composites to bring to market 100% recycled carbon fibers from aerospace prepreg fabrics. These recycled Carbon fibers have successfully been used in both nonwoven mats and thermoplastic pellets and sheeting.
Shocker Composites LLC is a privately owned entity founded and located in Wichita, Kansas. Shocker Composites recycle carbon fiber from pre-preg material at room temperatures and pressures using a patented technology. The recovered carbon fibers have no loss in their physical or chemical properties. Since the process is performed under ambient conditions, it is economically viable. Additionally the recovered fibers are then processed into plastic pellets using our patent pending process and into non-woven mats as well as fiber reinforced plastic sheets.
